OUR CALL

Over 50 times in the New Testament we are called to action on behalf of “one another." We are a church of ordinary people that seeks to abide in Jesus daily, caring for one another and carrying the burdens of others. Life in Christ is a life-long journey where we are becoming more like Him by listening  to His voice, learning from His teaching, obeying  His commands, and carrying out His mission. We desire to create an environment that is simple in its approach to helping one another daily follow Jesus.

OUR VALUES

We believe that the church should be a community of life-giving relationships. We practice loving one another and being loved by others as we learn to live in the family of God. Believing that every person is made in the image of god, we treat one another as God’s beloved.

  • “A new command I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another. By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another.”

We are committed to spiritual growth, walking alongside each other as we grow and mature in our faith. Led by the Holy Spirit and seeking biblical truth in our daily lives, we desire to love God with all that we are.

  • Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength.’ The second is this: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’ There is no commandment greater than these.”

We know that Jesus went where people were and engaged in their lives. We believe that Jesus wants to have a personal encounter with all people, Both in our local community and in the world.

  • Then Jesus came to them and said, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.”

We value all of Scripture and see it as truth that helps us know God. It also teaches us how to live in the family of God in a way that values, equips, and includes all ages as we learn, serve, and worship together. We are committed to being a people of prayer, both for one another and the world around us. We are motivated by the vibrant faith community of the early church in Acts 2.

  • They devoted themselves to the apostles’ teaching and to fellowship, to the breaking of bread and to prayer. Everyone was filled with awe at the many wonders and signs performed by the apostles. All the believers were together and had everything in common. They sold property and possessions to give to anyone who had need. Every day they continued to meet together in the temple courts. They broke bread in their homes and ate together with glad and sincere hearts, praising God and enjoying the favor of all the people. And the Lord added to their number daily those who were being saved.

The Apostle’s Creed presents our beliefs in a way that is simple, clear, and reverent.

  • I believe in God, the Father almighty,
          creator of heaven and earth.

I believe in Jesus Christ, his only Son, our Lord,
who was conceived by the Holy Spirit
and born of the virgin Mary.
      He suffered under Pontius Pilate,
      was crucified, died, and was buried;
      he descended to hell.
The third day he rose again from the dead.
      He ascended to heaven
and is seated at the right hand of God the Father almighty.
From there he will come to judge the living and the dead.

I believe in the Holy Spirit,
      the holy catholic* church,
      the communion of saints,
      the forgiveness of sins,
      the resurrection of the body,
      and the life everlasting. Amen.
